Here's the Scoop from the Field We've been on the road in Raleigh and San Francisco meeting with incredible experts! We interviewed and spent a day in the lab with Dr. Heather Patisaul at NC State, who specializes in how endocrine disrupting chemicals affect the brain and behavioral. We then scooted over to Durham to interview Dr. Linda Birnbaum, the Director of both the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences and the National Toxicology Program at the National Institutes of Health to talk about the toxicity of ingredients like lead and formaldehyde. Just two weeks later, we hopped on a plane to San Fran where we stopped at the Breast Cancer Prevention Partners to see Janet Nudelman, Director of Program and Policy. We talked with Janet about current policy efforts and why concerning chemicals NEED to be regulated beyond the industry's self-monitoring techniques that aren't working. What Comes Next? We're flying to San Diego in May to interview a stylist who experienced formaldehyde poisoning doing Brazilian Blowout hair straightening treatments. She bravely stood up to the company and reached out to the FDA. The evidence is compelling, and these true stories we're gathering are powerful. We can't wait to reveal the truth about toxic chemicals to you! Join Us for a Mini-Screening of Pretty Ugly!
